I also have Chuck Phelan announcing the first two hours of the Easter Sunday, 3pm, Stereo Sign-on(4/6/69)(thank-you Dennis, for the heads-up call). The good news is the first hour is in stereo, a DAT copy from the reconditioned Ampex off the Scotch 111 master tape in the archives. RealAudio people can find a copy of it at Aaron Hellers' site.

The bad news is the second hour master tape is off air, 1 7/8 ips mono, and full of motor and other noises. It was re-recorded onto DAT in LP mode and then 8 bit ULAW. This has reduced some of the spikey noise but the occasional dropouts and Ø shift are still there, but the left and right lobes of your brain can do some wonderful processing, for I listen to it and hear the content, not the garbage.

Never underestimate phycho-acoustics; 'twas even the foundation of the Internet.
